THE Zimbabwe Pool Association (Zipa) has started the hunt for national team coach and team managers for both male and female teams.
According to a communiquA� from Zipa, the national team coach will work with the technical committee reporting to the board and will be required to participate in the selection of the national teams.
a�?He will conduct training sessions for the national team. Track performance of national team players across the world and produce reports to the board on performance of the national team. The coach will also be expected to give technical advice to players during national team games,a�? read the communiquA�.
The team managers will be required to co-ordinate the activities of the national team, arrange travelling arrangements and general welfare of the national team and liaise with the board on national team issues.
The association is also looking forward to hiring the head umpire who will train umpires under Zipa and its affiliates.
The head umpire will also be expected to advise the Zipa board on the gamea��s technical issues, assign umpires for games under Zipa in consultation with the board and liaise with lead provincial umpires.
a�?The applicants should have a minimum of Ordinary Level education with good knowledge of the game formats.
Applicants with good disciplinary record must also be at least 25 years. The positions currently have no salary other than allowances payable from time to time,a�? further read the communiquA�.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo is set to play host to a national ladies pool tournament on 1 April.
a�?We are ready to host other provinces. Games will be played at Blackball Emporium. The first prize is $200. The team that will come out second will get $130. The second runners up will go home with $80,a�? said Flatter Moyo who is part of the tournamenta��s organising committee.
