A video of Zambezi Express, Siyayaas popular dance and song juggernaut, has managed to crack the one million view mark on YouTube, thereby becoming one of the few videos from Southern Africa to achieve the milestone.
The five-minute video teaser of Siyayaas spectacular dance and song exhibition recently crossed the elusive one million mark on the video sharing and viewing site.
To give a better idea of the magnitude of the popularity of the groupas video, one has to glance at the videos of popular songs released by some of the countryas biggest musicians in the last few years.
Jah Prayzahas Gochie Gochie video which was released three years ago stands at over 200 000 views while Winky Das five-year-old Musarova Bigman video stands at just under 250 000 views.
Newer videos have also found joy however, with Killer T having amassed over 300 000 views with his video for the smash hit, Itai Ndione.
The million view milestone has also proved elusive on the continent, with KOas Cara Cara being the first hip-hop video to achieve the feat in South Africa last year. KOas milestone was followed by similar feats by Cassper Nyovest for his songs Phumakim and Doc Shebeleza while Ricky Rick did so for his recent release, Fuseg.
Milestones are nothing new to Zambezi Express, who set the Box Office record at the Bulawayo Theatre in 2010 grossing over $14 000.
Following the journey of Mzilikazi, now portrayed by the multi talented Makhula, the show is a fluid display of drama and dance that fits into the Bulawayo strong tradition of performance.
