Will Pasca Manhanga smile again?
WarriorsA� pint sized attacking midfielder Pasca Manhanga , who joined gold miners How Mine from Triangle in late January, will become the latest local footballer to invest in dentures amid revelations that he recently lost 12 of his teeth because of an infection on his gums, B-Metro Sport has learnt.
Manhanga joins his teammate Mernard Mupera and former Dynamos fierce striker Evans Gwekwerere in the list of local soccer stars that have previously had a a�?facelifta�?.
Impeccable sources familiar with Manhangaa��s predicament told B-Metro:
a�?The boy had 12 teeth removed at a surgery in Bulawayo. He has a bone infection and it will take time for him to heal. He requires two sets of dentures which are going to be fixed on his gums when he fully recovers. He is currently in his home town in Mutare recovering,a�? said the source.
Before the latest quandary, the player, who also previously turned out for Tsholotsho FC, had two front teeth missing which brings the total to 14 teeth that he has lost.
This means he now remains with 18 teeth.
A human being has 32 teeth a�� eight incisors, four canines, eight premolars and 12 molars a�� including four wisdom teeth.
He confirmed he has been visiting the dentist lately.
a�?It is true that I am not well. I am currently seeing a dentist. I cannot say much,a�? he said.
Spirited efforts to get hold of the player again drew a blank as his phone went unanswered before it went off.
How Mine gaffer Kelvin Kaindu confirmed that Manhanga had a problem with his teeth.
a�?Pasca (Manhanga) is having a problem with his teeth but we hope he will get well soon. He did not train with us last week. He should be seeing a dentist and we stand to be advised on when he will start training. He is recovering,a�? said Kaindu who was also with Triangle last season.
Meanwhile, Kaindu told this publication that they had since finalised their 2016A� squad which they will announce on Friday.
a�?We are done with regards to our squad. We have finalised it. We will maybe announce it on Friday. We are ready for the start of the season.a�?
The miners have a number of seasoned players in their camp that include goalkeepers Munyaradzi Diya, Donovan Bernard, Charles Sibanda,A�A� Menard Mupera, captain Tapiwa Khumbuyani, Tawanda Muparati, Dumisani a�?Fazoa�? Ndlovu , Timothy January andA� Toto Banda among others.
Kaindu said Khumbuyani remained the cluba��s captain.
