ZIFA Southern Region Division One teams will return to action this weekend after a two-week mid-season break.
A full complement of fixtures is lined up for what should be an exciting weekend of Division One football. The league’s spokesperson Blessing Mbwanda said they were looking forward to the return of the games.
“The teams have had a chance to recharge their batteries. We are expecting the competition in the second half of the season to go a gear up as we have romped in sponsors who will be funding the rewarding the player of the month award. We are also talking to other sponsors who want to partner with the league. We are expecting the second round to be more exciting,” said Mbwanda.
ZPC Hwange are top of the table with 41 points. They enjoy a 12-point lead over second-placed Casmyn as action gets into the second round. Teams have been busy in the market in the mid-season window and B-Metro captures some of the moves in the window.
