South Africa’s Percy Tau named captain for World Cup Qualifier against Zimbabwe

PERCY Tau leads a 36-member South Africa senior soccer team squad that was announced today to face Zimbabwe next month in a World Cup qualifier.

South Africa’s poster boy plays for Al Ahly in Egpyt and has played in Belgium and England.

They are counting on him as Cosafa’s Player of the Year after a brilliant season to spearhead the attack when they face the Warriors and Nigeria.

Among other to players called up with vast continental experience are Themba Zwane, Rowen Williams, Evidence Makcopa and Teboho Mokoena.

The squad is expected to be trimmed to a final 23 before month end.

Bafana Bafana face the Super Eagles of Nigeria away in Uyo on Friday, 7 June 2024 before they face Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on 11 June.
