Man arrested for kissing neighbour’s son

A 55-YEAR-OLD man from Makokoba suburb in Bulawayo appeared in court facing a charge of indecent assault after he allegedly kissed his neighbour’s 16-year-old son.

The accused whose name is being withheld to protect the victim appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Rachel Mukanga where he pleaded not guilty and was remanded out of custody to 19 December 2022 on $20 000 bail.

Allegations against the man are that on 21 November 2022 and at Vundu Flats, he called the boy to his room and he complied.

When he entered, the accused spoke to him in Shona saying imbondipawo mbijana (Please can you give me a little bit) and the boy questioned him on what he meant.

The accused then immediately grabbed the victim with his left hand and dragged him close to his bed where he allegedly kissed him on his right cheek.

The boy managed to free himself and told his guardian who advised him to report the matter to the police leading to the man’s arrest.
