An Ireland-based Zimbabwean podcaster has turned up the heat on relationship issues with her series titled Umjolo Uyanyisa.
The series created by podcaster Christabell Choga originally from Pumula North, Bulawayo now based in Ireland will be releasing a fourth episode this week. The series explores the challenges affecting relationships, love, and respect and money issues in relationships.
In a telephone interview, Choga said that she was motivated to do the series after noticing how many relationships and marriages were breaking down.
“I wanted to open a discussion platform where people can discuss the issues causing the collapse of marriages and relationships in our society and maybe come up with solutions to address those problems. I also decided to do this podcast based on my own personal experiences with relationships, and I want to use this experience to teach others how to deal with problems in relationships,” she said.
Choga said to make the podcast real and reflect on the real-life experiences she usually invites viewers to be her guests, and she normally takes topics of discussions from listeners who send questions and ask her for advice.
The podcast series which can be found on online platforms such as Facebook features the painful aspects of love with viewers sharing their information about past breakups and relationship troubles. It also explores the economic troubles that relationships face and how these troubles affect relationships.
She said that her biggest problem right now is getting support from her Bulawayo viewers who are not as active in engagement as her other viewers from abroad and other places in Zimbabwe.
Choga further said that she hopes the series will enable people to vent their problems, help those dealing with difficult break-ups and those toxicating relationships.
