The Bulawayo Companies Social Soccer League In-Trun tournament has reached the quarterfinal stage with five matches lined up on Sunday.

Delta and Grills are set to fight out for the remaining berth in the last eight after three teams failed to pitch up for the first round.

Bon Accord, Tiger Warriors and ZPC who were supposed to make up Group D together with Heany Junction did not turn up for the first round hence the organisers had to select the two best runners-up in the other groups to fight it out for the last slot.

The winner of the playoff match will face Funda Ukulinda in a quarterfinal tie in Tshabalala while in the other last eight matches, Zoba Stars take on Celtic at Sizinda Grounds, the same venue for the battle between Zapalala and Barrow Street while Heany Junction and Truworths slug it off for a place in the semis at Heany.

The In-Trun Sports-sponsored tourney kicked off last weekend with the first round group stage that saw the 16 teams in the BCSSL being bundled into four groups with four teams each with the top two qualifying.

In Group A Zoba and Barrow made it through with Delta and Busy Bee coming third and fourth while in Group B Zapalala and Mganwini Celtic topped the group in that order and Grills and Jim Kuyu.

Funda Ukulinda and Truworths went through at the expense of Mexi Mawaya and Mpumelelo and Heany had a free ride as all the other teams in their group did not show up.

BCSSL Simon Malunga said they were ready for the finals and thanked sponsors, In-Trun Sports Shop for providing the winneras prizes.

The winner of the season opening tournament will walk away with a floating shield and kit worth $500.
