GORY details of how Chillspot Records star producer Tafadzwa ‘Ribhe’ Mandaza allegedly raped a 14-year-old Form Two girl, including drugging her before the sexual attack, have emerged.
Ribhe is the latest member of the stable to have a brush with the law in a case in which a woman was attacked.
DJ Levels also faced rape allegations before the charges were dropped by fellow musician Shashl.
DJ Levels denied throughout the trial that he raped Shashl, who used to be his girlfriend.
DJ Fantan also faced charges of domestic violence.
The charges were brought by his then estranged wife Gamu Nemukuyu.
Just like the DJ Levels charges, the claims raised by Nemukuyu were also dropped.
Ribhe spent the night in custody after he was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
He appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of raping a teenage girl.
The gory details, related to the rape, were revealed in the State’s papers and Ribhe allegedly drugged his victim before raping her.
The victim resides in the same neighborhood as Ribhe.
She is a Form Two student.
Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje alleged that on October 16, the victim didn’t go back home after school and when her father checked with the school, he was told that she hadn’t been to school for two days.
The next day, the victim went to Ribhe’s home with other people, who are unnamed in the State papers.
They left for Mashwede Village at around 10pm.
It is the State’s case that Ribhe manipulated the minor into drinking an unknown substance and smoking shisha.
Later that night, Ribhe took the girl to his home and she only regained consciousness the next day.
It is alleged that when she woke up, she realised that Ribhe has raped her.
The child was then located by a search party that was looking for her as her father had filed a Missing Person’s report.
Upon being interviewed about her whereabouts, the child revealed to her father that she had been raped by Ribhe.
Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa ordered Ribhe to return to court on November 20, for routine remand, pending finalisation of investigations.(H Metro)
