Hadebe heads back to Turkey League

WARRIORS defender Teenage Hadebe is set to retrace his footsteps to elite Turkey football league.

According to reports in Turkey, Hadebe has reached a verbal agreement with Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor.

Late last year, the towering defender announced his departure at United of States of America’s (USA) Major League club Houston Dynamo.

Hadebe was one of several players whose contracts were not renewed at the club.

He was one of the highest earners at the club.

Despite a lengthy lay off this season due to injury Hadebe had a decent stay at the club and was a key figure with resolute defending and some goals.

The Zimbabwe international is expected to arrive in the European country soon before undergoing his medical and sign a contract.

The deal is reportedly going to last until the end of the season with an option to extend it with one season.

In Turkey, Hadebe joined Yeni Malatyaspor in July 2019 from South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.

During his stint in Turkey, he became a key member of the team, in the last two seasons, and has helped Malatyaspor maintain their Super League status.

Hadebe made 53 league appearances, in two years for the club and has also played a number of domestic Cup games and in the Uefa Europa League qualifying rounds.

In total, he featured in 60 games and had two goals and two assists, despite playing as a central defender.

He has 36 caps for his country, is set to be a key player for his country in the World Cup qualifiers and hopes to find a new club soon.
