BULAWAYO-based gospel musiciant Matthew Chishumba, better known as Devotion C, is appealing for public recognition for his musical video that he released in February.

The unheralded 33-year-old muso released the solo video titled Nhliziyo Yami, early this year. The song touches on the struggles that people went through during the Covid-19 era and in the process messages of hope to the people.

“It has been such a great honour, Italians also bought and imposed positive comments about my song. In that regard, I am appealing to the public to embrace and appreciate the song,” said Chishumba.

He added: “I want the community to recognise my tracks and my new video of Nhliziyo Yami released early February. It has come through hard work.”

Scouted at a tender age at ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries, the musician said he started knocking on the local musical scene  at the age of 21.

As if that is not enough, he has recorded 14 singles and he writes his own songs in different languages that include English, IsiNdebele and Shona.

He boasts of songs that have been streaming on various radio stations. Under his belt, he has a song titled S’timela Sezulu, which landed on position one in 2022 at Skyz Metro gospel charts.

To further prove his mantle in arts, Chishumba is the brains behind the book titled “The Art Of Music Volume” which he will officially launch in the next few months.

History has it that Chishumba once worked hand in glove with gifted Bulawayo rapper Thandolwenkosi Mwali aka Malum Judge Appkiss ona song titled Ngibuhlungu which has been gaining airplay on various local radio stations.
