A 61-YEAR-OLD Harare nurse has been arrested for visiting her patient, without the consent of the family, amid accusations that she ended up seducing him and has allegedly been sexually abusing him.
Sithembile Chipere, who is a widow, has been nursing Herbert Mlambo (72), for some time. Mlambo family members stopped Sithembile from nursing or visiting him after suspicions emerged that her relationship with Herbert was now questionable.
She defied the family’s order amid reports that she had managed to win the heart of the old man during the health care sessions. Herbert’s son, Tafadzwa (36), lodged a police report against Sithembile, leading to her arrest.
Sithembile told H-Metro that her relationship with Herbert started before his marriage to Tafadzwa’s stepmother.
“Vandisungisa asi zvavasingazive ndezvekuti baba wavo ndiye witness yangu kucourt kwacho. H-Metro muuye kucourt ikoko zvakare. These children are the ones abusing their father, violating his conjugal rights. One day, one of the daughters came while I was with their father in the bedroom, she slept on the bed in an effort to scare me. I will not be moved by their actions, Herbert has been my friend, apart from nursing him. We were friends before he married Tafadzwa’s stepmother. I didn’t contribute to the separation of their father and their stepmother.”
Sithembile has since appeared in court. Tafadzwa and his other family members accuse Sithembile of sexually abusing Herbert who is not feeling well. One of members of the Mlambo family posted a message and a recorded audio on the Hatfield community WhatsApp group accusing Sithembile of abusing their ailing father.
