A 20-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo has been dragged before the courts for allegedly stabbing her two tenants with a broken beer bottle as punishment for defying her orders as a landlady.
Chengetai Ndlovu from Burombo Flats allegedly stabbed Angelina Lesley (36) and Ndabezinhle Tshuma (45) after Angelina confronted her for deliberately pouring water on the floor and ordering Angelina’s child to mop it.
Reports are that on June 24 at around 8am, Chengetai poured water on the floor and ordered Angelina’s child to wipe it.
That didn’t go down well with Angelina who then reprimanded Chengetai saying it was not proper for her to order her child to clean the water which she had deliberately poured on the floor as it was akin to abuse.
That led to a misunderstanding between the two parties with Chengetai shouting at Angelina while accusing her of disrespecting her and defying her orders as a landlady.
In a fit of anger, Chengetai broke a beer bottle and allegedly stabbed Angelina several times on her left shoulder.
When Tshuma tried to intervene on Angelina’s side, a daring Chengetai went on to stab him on the left arm.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Chengetai’s arrest.
Angelina, who sustained severe injuries was referred to Mpilo Hospital for treatment.
For the offence Chengetai was brought before the court facing two counts of physical abuse as defined in Section 3 (1) (a) of the Domestic Violence Act.
She was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to July 11.
