MATABELELAND North Copa Coca-Cola district finals are set to conclude on Friday with Kariyangwe High School set to play host to Binga districta��s finals.
The district finals for Lupane, Hwange, Bubi, Umguza, Tsholotsho and Nkayi were played last Friday.
a�?Our other six districts concluded their Under 15 boys and girls Copa Coca-Cola district finals last Friday. The Binga district finals that are being hosted by Kariyangwe High School will conclude on Friday,a�? said Matabeleland North Nash head-in-charge of soccer, Lunguza Ndlovu.
Mabhikwa High School emerged the winners in Lupane district Under-15 boys and girlsa�� categories. Hwange district saw Mosi Oa Tunya and Jabulani Secondary advance to the gamesa�� boys and girls Matabeleland North provincial finals respectively.
Bubi district will be represented by Somvubu High in both the girls and boys categories at the provincial finals.
Tohwe High grabbed the two tickets to represent Nkayi district at the provincial finals while Nhlambabaloyi and Madlelenyoni qualified for boys and girls Matabeleland North provincial finals after getting the better of other schools in Umguza district.
Tsholotsho High will carry the hopes of Tsholotsho district at the provincial finals in both the girls and boys contests.
a�?There is a trend that has emerged from our district finals. We have seen some schools outclass their opponents both in girls and boys categories.
I think the trend shows that some schools are taking sport seriously and they even boast of highly qualified coaches. Consequently, we need to look into the issue of upgrading our school teamsa�� coaches.They need to acquire the required coaching badges,a�? added Ndlovu.
2012 Copa Coca-Cola champions Mzingwane High School are among eight schools that have booked places in the Matabeleland South provincial finals to be held next month.
Mzingwane edged How Mine 1-0 in the district finals held at Mzinyathini.
Mzingwane will be joined in the boysa�� provincial finals by Tongwe from Beitbridge, Thokozani of Insiza and Mangwe champions Plumtree High.
Girlsa�� teams that booked places in the provincial finals that will be held at Thekwane High School from July 5-7 are Empandeni of Mangwe, Beitbridgea��s Malungudzi and Insizaa��s JZ Moyo High.
Mpopoma High School will represent Mzilikazi District in the Bulawayo boysa�� and girlsa�� provincial finals.
The other schools that have qualified for the Bulawayo boysa�� provincial finals are Sikhulile, former national champions Mzilikazi, Luveve, Masotsha, St Bernarda��s, Nketa, Christian Brothers College, Gifford, Milton and Sobukhazi.
Schools competing for the right to represent Bulawayo in the girlsa�� national finals are St Bernarda��s, Pumula, Townsend, Montrose, Sobukhazi, Entumbane, Emganwini, Nketa, Mpopoma, Nkulumane and defending champions Magwegwe. .
