A notorious a?chambera black mamba has been killed.
Residents in Bulawayoas Cowdray park finally killed a black mamba snake that had a tendency of finding itself in toilet chambers.
Before its death, the snake had appeared inside chambers of two houses. Luckily the would-be toilet users escaped unharmed.
Knowledge Charakapa who once came face-to-face with the deadly reptile said the snake looked straight into his eyes before disappearing into the chamber. It was as if it told him a?Wena!a? (you).
a?After I had finished bathing, I realised that I had forgotten my cellphone in the bathroom, when I went back to take my phone thatas when I saw the snake in the toilet chamber starring right in my eyes.A Paralysed with fear I just stood there as I watched the snake disappearing back in the chamber,a? he said.
A neighbour, Tamara Ncube, a doubting Thomas also came face to face with what she had been told by others.
a?I heard my neighbours complaining about a snake that was appearing in chambers, I did not believe it, until I saw it with my own eyes. I was shocked,a? said Ncube.
The snake had ways and means of running away from capture because when a snake hunt was launched, it would hide but when forgotten, return to scare the hell out of them.
a?We tried to track the snake with no success, but it kept on appearing on several occasions. The snake would appear on different occasions in our house and in our neighbouras yard,a? said Charakapa.
However, the elusive serpent met its fate last week when it was spotted in a neighbouras hedge.
a?We finally managed to kill the snake last week when we saw it basking on our neighbouras hedge, it was becoming a serious threat to residents,a? he said.
