It’s a South African Affair!

The Zimbabwean Heroes holidays are set to come alive as a massive line-up of South African most wanted artistes are billed for performances during the holiday in Bulawayo.

The reigning king of Ama Piano music Kabza De Small who is making waves courtesy of his joint album with DJ Maphorisa titled Scorpion Kings is set to open the heroes’ holiday affair on Saturday 10 August at Cosmopolitan night club.

Dubbed The Biggest Ama Piano party, the Nga Mshov’uMbali hit-maker is set to bring down the house as the Ama Piano genre which is a sub-genus of Deep House music with a melody of a rhythmic piano, commands a massive following in the city.

This has made the newly formed organisers of the gig, Izinja Ze Game’s Prince Eskhosini Lunga to conclude that the gig would be the biggest party in 2019.

“Kabza is one of the respected artistes in South Africa as he is the pioneer of Ama Piano. Therefore, since the genre is also common in Bulawayo we decided to organise the biggest party ever this year in the city because Kabza commands a massive following.

“Kabza will arrive at Joshua Nkomo International Airport at 12pm, the convoy which will welcome him will be leaving Zarah Lounge at 11am. If fans miss the convoy, they will have a second chance to meet and greet the King of Ama Piano at Zarah Lounge over lunch at 2pm,” said Lunga.

On the other hand, South African house music award winning couple Sun El Musician and Simmy is also set for a gig at Cosmopolitan on 12 August, shutting down the Heroes holidays.

The Ntabezikude hit-makers are supposed to attract mostly couples and single ladies who are looking forward to a vibrant couples or girls’ time out.

With Simmy’s Tugela Fairy album, which catapulted her to fame late last year landing her at least two nominations at this years’ South African Music Awards (Sama), she is expected to perform some of her smash hits that are common with ladies such as Ubala, Ngiyesaba, Lashona Ilanga and Ngonile.

Mduduzi Mdlongwa from 3D Events who are the organisers of the Sun El Musician and Simmy’s All Black party revealed that the gig was mainly for the ladies where they will express themselves through music and fashion.

“We discovered that most shows in Bulawayo do not accommodate ladies so this time around we decided to did a gig especially for them so they can dress up, be fresh and enjoy themselves over soul touching music,” said Mdlongwa.

Meanwhile, Cosmopolitan marketing consultant Ntando Ndlovu revealed that the organisers of both shows had done their part so far.

“Cosmopolitan is ready to play host to such big shows. We are aiming mostly at hosting couples over lunch at Zarah Lounge for Sun El and Simmy gig on the day of the show at 2pm. Being around the musical couple will inspire more couples.”
